A Note from the Innkeepers

Fox Hill Farm is tucked away in the "Quiet Corner of New England," in the little town of Pomfret, Connecticut, which hasn't changed much at all since it was founded in 1713. We are situated off the beaten path, on 75 acres that run alongside Route 169, designated by Congress as one of only 13 National Scenic By-ways in the United States.

Fox Hill Farm has been our family's homestead since it was purchased from Native Americans in 1707. The land has seen us through good times and bad and brought us much peace and joy. We invite you to become a part of our family's history and let us share with you the same sense of comfort that we have enjoyed through the years.

There are two homes on the estate, the main house and the cottage. Renovations have started on the country farmhouse that will provide the main lodging of a proper inn. Until then, please enjoy the cozy country cottage that is your private retreat during your visit to Pomfret.

A Day at
Fox Hill Farm

Whenever
  • Wake up and somehow drag yourself out of the warm, comfy king size iron bed.
  • Grab the soft cotton robe waiting for you in the closet and make your way out to your private dining/kitchen area.
  •  Look out the French doors or go out onto your deck and enjoy the lake view. Let it take your breath away.
  • Sit and wait to be served the breakfast of your choice.
Sometime After Whenever
  • Soak in the antique claw foot tub.
  • Enjoy the view of the lake from the tub.
  • Be lazy.
Before Lunch
  • Sit and relax on your private patio.
  • Smell the country fresh air.
  • Do some of whatever your heart desires.
Lunch
  • Have a long lunch at The Vanilla Bean Cafe.
  • Understand why they are known for their delicious homemade desserts.
Afternoon
  • More of whatever your heart desires.
  • Swing in the hammock and let your mind wander.
  • Notice inspiration all around you.
Dinner At Some Point in the Evening
  • Find Serenity.
Bedtime
  • Sleep well.
  • Dream.
